This year, our 1st Ward Election has taken an ugly turn, and this is something I strongly dislike and is part of the reason why I’m reaching out. There’s a reason why people don’t come out to vote, and it’s because they believe nothing will change. But the change our community needs starts with your vote. I’m proud to endorse Paul Presinzano to be our First Ward Councilmember.

We need a man who has deep roots in our town to take us forward into the future. That is why, after much research and deliberation, I know Paul Presizano is the candidate I support and endorse.

A vote for Paul Presinzano will promote and ensure honest debate and much needed transparency and accountability. It will curtail the Bhalla administration’s power, which is currently unopposed, and is a vote for an open, responsive, and transparent local government.

Since he observes, engages and listens, Paul is extremely fluent in the issues that matter most to First Ward Residents—Noise concerns, rodent issues, street closures, large scale development impacts, pedestrian safety, government transparency, and the list goes on. Other candidates have single issue expertise, but Ward 1 needs to be represented well across all issues.

In considering the challenges faced by the 1st Ward and the 4th Ward, which share Hoboken’s southern border, it is crucial for me to have a colleague on the City Council who will be approachable and prioritize the needs of our residents. Paul Presinzano is committed to being accessible to the people of Hoboken and being an independent voice on the City Council.

I’m proud to call Paul Presinzano my friend and proud to endorse him for 1st ward Council. I encourage everyone to reach out to Paul and see for yourself that he’s someone who’s worthy of your vote.

Paul is a good person, who listens and works collaboratively with others, who prioritizes quality of life concerns and in particular those of our seniors and children, and who digs deep to find the best solutions for our problems, big and small. What more could you want in a representative? Oh, that he is independent, will support all good policies regardless of the source, and is not afraid to push back and challenge the status quo? Yep, that too. And… that by voting for him you get to keep democracy in Hoboken. For. The. Win.

We need someone that questions why, deliberates on how and actually takes action. Paul is that man.
